Women, the Diaconate and Priestly Ordination in the Roman Catholic Church

organised by the ORDINATION OF CATHOLIC WOMEN (OCW), Australia.

This is an important International Conference. This year, it is believed, Rome will ban women not only from the priesthood, but even from the full sacramental diaconal ministry. Do come!

Conference to be opened by SOLINE VATINEL (BASIC, Ireland).

SPEAKERS:

  1. Dr JOHN WIJNGAARDS, Director of Housetop, UK. Author and theologian. He is an outspoken campaigner for women priests through his writings and website www.womenpriests.org.
  2. Dr KIM POWER, Academic and author , Research Fellow at the Australian Catholic University. Kim will present a paper on the diaconate in the ancient church
  3. Dr JOHN N. COLLINS, Theologian and author. John will present findings from his forthcoming book Deacons and the Church: Making connections between the old and new.
  4. Reverend VAL GRAYDON, Anglican priest and General Secretary of the Tasmanian Council of Churches. Val will be able to share her experiences as both a deacon and priest.
  5. ANGELIKA FROMM, leader of The Women's Diaconate Group in Germany who will report on the training of Catholic women deacons in her country.

T0TAL COST: $200 (Australian dollars) which includes accommodation, meals, registration and conference dinner ($120 without accommodation), or $50 per day.
