How to Make Sense of GOD

This is a video course in five parts about God in the modern world. It presents Christian faith to the kind of people we have become today: secular and scientifically minded.

The course consists of :

• a 340-page course book by John Wijngaards, "HOW TO MAKE SENSE OF GOD";
• a guide book;
• and a story on video (in five parts of 35-minutes each) entitled "JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF LOVE".

Why this course?

Secularization threatens to erode religion. It affects the whole of society. It poses a challenge to believers and stops others from even considering faith. HOW TO MAKE SENSE OF GOD offers a fresh look at all the basic questions.

The course starts from a wholehearted acceptance of the positive values of our own age: the freedom and autonomy of the individual, the raising of living standards through technology, respect for human rights, and the discovery of truth with the help of the sciences. It shows that more than ever it makes sense to believe in God as the Source of all we are.

Each of the five parts of the course contains ample material for five group sessions (see the next section). Each of the five videos of JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF LOVE, though part of a longer story, can stand on its own.
